Scripture: “For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14 NIV)
The Book of Esther shows the choices we make between seeing the hand of God in our circumstances in life and seeing things as mere coincidences. There are several interesting aspects of this story. Within the pages of Esther’s story God is never mentioned, yet God’s unseen hand can be noticed orchestrating every detail, controlling events and protecting His people. Although God’s name is not mentioned, His providential care for His people is evident. God makes no mention of Himself because He wants us to know that He is with us even when He seems to be silent and invisible. He is always working in our lives whether or not we realize it. The is no power in heaven or on earth that can thwart His plans. We can be assured that His plans will not be moved by the actions of evil men.
Esther was brought into the palace and after a full year of preparation her time came to go before the King. Because of her humility and acceptance of her position as servant, Esther was taken into the King’s chamber. She proved to have a godly and teachable spirit. She showed great strength, loyalty and a willing obedience. Her humility caused her to be elevated into the position of Queen.
The Book of Esther is a lesson used to teach us the sovereignty of God over His creation. He maneuvers every aspect of life to position people, governments, and situations for His plan and purpose. We may never know what God is doing, but a time may come when we will realize why we have gone through certain experiences. Why our paths crossed with certain people, and why we were chosen to go to specific destinations to do things we never expected to do. The time will come when everything will come together. Esther was put into a harem for such a time as this. And like Esther our lives have purpose and meaning for every occurrence, whether present or future.
Esther is an example to us. She is a reminder of God’s promise. Her story is a reminder that remaining respectful and humble even in difficult times and seemingly impossible circumstances, often sets us up to be vessels of blessings for others as well as ourselves. Esther’s godly attitude won her the favor of God which in turns gave her the favor of those around her. Such favor is what ultimately saved her people.
We too can be granted such favor as we accept even unfair persecution and follow Esther’s example of maintaining a positive attitude, humility, and dependency upon God. Like Esther we have been chosen for such a time as this. Someone need to hear of the saving grace of God. Salvation is the free gift of God by way of Jesus Christ. Share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with someone today. I challenge you to read the story of Esther and list the key events that revealed God’s magnificent plan. Make a note to self of the ways of God, His plan and purpose, and His victory. Ponder these facts and compare your current situation. God has made His ways know to us and His purpose shall stand!
Blessings of my love to you!
Amen

One of my absolute favorite stories in the bible. I like the way you brought it back around to be a personal thing. Not just a story that happened to someone in the bible but that God works the same In our lives. That challenges us to examine and see how he is moving in our life personally. God is alive and active today and this is a great reminder. Love you sis

Good morning Angel! YES! God is the same God now as He was then and we need to know that is a fact. God changes not. Our situation may change, but God remains the same. He delivered then, He healed then, He was in control then, and He is in control now and forever. Thank you for stopping by and blessings to you!

Hi Librado! Good evening. I believe all of our questions will be answered and we will understand why everything had to happen the way that it is happening. It seems as though everything on earth has polar opposites, while heaven has perfection. God opponent satan. Good vs evil, rich and poor, light vs darkness, up and down, life and death, love vs hate, etc. But when we get home it will not longer be this way. How come it just could not be good and evil be destroy at the onset. His ways definitely are higher. Will we even care when we get to heaven? Anyway, yes I believe one day it will all make sense, but now there is so much destruction, hurt, pain, and evil is increasing. Very interesting subject… food for thought.
Thank you for your comment. I have a mind that reaches beyond the norm…
God’s blessings to you. Enjoy your evening!
