Today’s Scripture: “For as he thinketh in His heart, so is he.” (Proverb 23:7a KJV)
The heart is the inner core of a person. Our thoughts dictate who we become. Likewise, the mind of a man reflects who he is. A man’s thoughts, feelings, desires, and choices make him who he really is. That is why God looks at the heart of a man and not at his outward appearance (1 Sam. 16:7).
We must think positive thoughts. Thoughts are powerful, and they have creative abilities. Unfortunately, many unhappy, unfulfilled Christians busy themselves trying to fulfill their own desires instead of patiently waiting for God to give them their hearts desires. Proverbs 16:25 tells us that there is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end, it is the way of death. According to Proverbs 4:18, we are to direct our thoughts towards things that are pure, lovely, true, noble, right, admirable, and praiseworthy.
The mind is the Key to right Christian living. 1st Corinthians 2:16 says that we have the mind of Christ, which means that we share the thoughts of Christ, His plans, and His perspectives. We should examine our thoughts, and if they don’t line up with God’s Word, we are to cast down those thoughts and think on His. We are to take control of our thoughts and replace wrong thinking with godly thinking. This is done by transforming our thinking by renewing the mind.
As a believer, transform your thinking by spending time reading your Bible and seek other avenues of Christian materials to aid in feeding your mind things that promote a healthy outlook on life. Trust God to lead you. He will order your steps without hindrances. Don’t let your mind lead you where you don’t want to go. Seek God’s way of doing things. His promises are for His children. The Holy Spirit’s power is available to us. Live in dependency upon the Holy Spirit and seek His strength through prayer. May the peace of God rule in your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Amen
