Scripture: “The Kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the Kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:20b-21 NIV)
The Kingdom of God is the rule of an eternal sovereign God over all of His creation. God’s Kingdom is designed for the sphere of salvation entered into a new birth (John 3:5-7). It embraces all created intelligence both in heaven and earth that are willing subjects to His Lordship and are in fellowship with Him. It is universal and includes men and created angels. It is eternal as God is eternal. We enter the Kingdom of God when we are born again. We are then considered kingdom citizens and a part of the kingdom for all of eternity. It is a relationship born of the spirit and we have confident assurance that it is so; the Spirit bears witness to this fact.
Jesus used both the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Heaven synonymously and interchangeably (Matt. 19:23). Although the kingdom is not on any map, it is in your midst. Not by making observations and pointing to this place or that place. The Kingdom of God is within you, within the heart of man. It is present in the soul of every true believer. It is a spiritual kingdom and an internal principle that exists in the hearts of men by the divine grace of God.
The Kingdom of God is not a matter of meat or drink, but it is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. Jesus said, “the Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field and like a merchant looking for fine pearls” (Matt. 13:44-45). He also said, “My Kingdom is not of this world” (John 18:36). When teaching His disciples how to pray Jesus said that we should pray: “Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, in earth as it is in heaven. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever, Amen.” (Matt. 6:9-13). This is a prayer that I pray every day. It shows my dependency and reverence for God as my Father. It confirms my beliefs and shows my humility and my appreciation for who God is and what He has done for me. He is first in my life and I wake up with praise and thanksgiving on my lips for all that He has done for me.
God’s Kingdom rules and reigns with power and authority through righteousness unto eternal life. The Kingdom of God is highly esteemed by God and in His sight a great price. The throne of grace is a place of grace and a place of majesty and honor. After Jesus ascended to heaven, He sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. There is no higher place than heaven and no higher position available. All of creation will one day bow to the majesty of God’s throne. The place where Jesus Christ reigns and rules. Serve Him with excellence. All hail the King of kings and the Lord of lords. He is Lord of all!
Look up to God as your only Source for all that you need. Much love and many blessings to you!
Amen!
