Scripture: So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless (1 Corinthians 15:58 NLT).

In the Book “Spiritual Leadership” by J. Oswald Sanders, Hudson Taylor revealed his secret of influencing others. He had great sympathy and gave thoughtful consideration to the welfare and comfort of others. Oswald kept the highest standards of self-sacrifice and toil before himself and was mindful of lacking in tenderness and sympathy toward those who could not go as far as he did in these respects. Oswald manifested great empathy and patience toward the failures of his brethren and was thus able to help them reach a higher plane of devotion. The spirit of meekness will achieve far more than the spirit of criticism.

Both Nehemiah and Jesus had a great passion for God’s people. They had a burning love for them which poured out in prayer to God, interceding for them before the throne; (John 17; Neh. 1).

At times we may have to give up our comfort to minister to others. However, when we allow God to minister through us, people begin to see the power of God working through us to them.

Kingdom builders lift up and encourage others to go forth with boldness. The fundamental ingredient is love. We help others through the love that Jesus gave us. The Kingdom of God will always and only be advanced by humble servants.
