Keeping Your Hope Alive

Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying, (Romans 12:12 NLT).

After reading Romans 12:12, I was reminded of Paul’s advice, “Consider it joy when we are under fiery trials; (1st Peter 4:12).

Well, what brings fiery trials? Answer: The testing of our faith. (And the audience responds…”Ahhhhh!!!”)

Hope is built on the foundation of faith. Without faith you cannot have hope. Paul put it in perspective when he said, “What should we hope for if we have faith; faith believes that we already possess what we have asked of God. Therefore, who hopes for what they already have?” (Rom. 8:24).

This is where joy comes in. Our confidence plays a very important role in us having joy. Scripture tells us that if we ask God for what we want, and if we believe that we have received what we have asked for, we shall have what we believe. We can be confident that we have what we have asked for already.

That’s because we have a source supplier. When we are faced with unexpected challenges and there seems to be no way to meet the need, we have a source supplier. God is our Source. We can be confident that God will meet our need because He made a promise that He would; (Ps. 23:1). We can trust God to keep His promises because He is faithful. Throughout history God’s track record has never been broken.

Whatever you are in need of, God is your Source Supplier. Have you asked God for His help yet?

Well, be encouraged! Consider it joy! God is forever faithful to meet every need that you have. The only requirement is that you have faith the size of a mustard seed. You must believe that God is able to fulfill every promise that He has made.

So now you can rejoice in your confident hope. You can be patient in trouble because of your faith. And never stop praying because prayer is our life line to God whenever we need Him.

Relax and have a joyful life!
