On this Resurrection Sunday, we honor our sinless Savior. Because of His great love for us, Christ chose the nails. He saw the complete picture at the beginning, yet He went to the Cross anyway. At the Cross, Jesus exchanged His righteousness for our sins. While we were in our sins, Christ died for us. He paid what we owed. The love that Jesus has for us goes beyond all human knowledge.
Woman Behold Your Son
When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, “Woman, here is your son,” and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home (John 19:26-27).
My God, Why Have You Forsaken Me
About three in the afternoon, Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”) Matt. 27:46.
I Thirst
Later, knowing that everything had now been finished and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty” (John 19:28).
A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips (John 19:29).
Father, Into Your Hands I Commit My Spirit
Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last (Luke 23:46).
It Is Finished
When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit (John 19:30).
The One Who Raised Jesus From The Dead
It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.” Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself (2 Cor. 4:13-14).
PRAYER
Loving Father God, I come upon your throne of grace with a humble heart. I thank you for your love, mercy, forgiveness, and kindness, which never ends. How great is your faithfulness O’ Lord. Thank you for rescuing us from the dominion of darkness and bringing us into your kingdom.
Thank You, Jesus, for shedding your precious blood on the cross for the sins of the world. Because of the blood, we are delivered and set free. Now our sins are forgiven and never remembered again. Father, thank you for the eternal gift of salvation, in the name of Jesus. May God bless us and keep us safe always. In Jesus’s Name, Amen.
PRAYER of SALVATION
If you haven’t received salvation in the Name of Jesus Christ, Romans 10:9-10, 13 reads, “If you confess with your mouth ‘Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation. Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
If you believe this, pray this prayer:
Father, God, I repent of my sins and I ask you to forgive me. I believe that Jesus is your son. I believe that He died on the cross and rose again on the 3rd day. He gave his life in my place that I may receive eternal salvation. Jesus, I ask you to come into my heart. I make you my Lord and my Savior. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
If you have prayed this prayer, “Welcome to the family of God!”. Your next step is to get connected with the body of Christ by finding a church home. You’re now on your way to living a brighter life in Jesus Christ.
