Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain; (Prov. 31:30).
We live in a society that constantly changes from day to day. The world’s ways rapidly changes and are very inconsistent. Quite often, we listen to people in the fashion industry, and we trust their judgment as to how we should look, feel and dress. We let strangers tell us what’s hot and what’s not. Yesterday this was in, but today it’s not. They tell us the latest and the hippest fashions to choose in order to fit in with their whimsical ways. “Carry this bag, it’s hot! Wear these pointed toe shoes with these skinny leg jeans. Short hems are in, big collars are not; and by the way lose 10 lbs.”… blah…blah…blah…
Well, listen up! Loose yourself from man’s standards and ways! Man’s beauty standards are fleeting, here today and gone tomorrow! We need to be perfectly flawlessly in order to fit into the world’s beauty mode. Trying to look like everyone but Christ leads to a life of discontentment, misery, and pain. I found that I’m most beautiful when I mirror His ways. The world is never going to except my natural beauty because it looks at the outward appearance of a man, but God looks at the heart. God sees the intent of every heart.
“I’m Accepted In The Beloved”
The truth is that I’m very fortunate to know who I am and who I belong to. God says that “I’m fearfully and wonderfully made; (Ps. 139:14). He sees me as being worthy because I’m accepted in the beloved. He sees me as Royalty; (1st Peter 2:9). I am distinguished among His works; made in His image and likeness; (Gen.1: 26-27). Transformation is taking place in my life. The more I focus on Him, the more I look like Him. But for now He accepts me flaws and all!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I know quite well that Your workmanship is marvelous, for You formed my inward parts. You wove me in my mother’s womb. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in the secret place. I give thanks to You because of the wonders that You have done, for Your works are exalted and my soul knows that right well. Thank You for accepting me and loving me Father, flaws and all.
