Hold Hands and Make a Friend

screenshot_2016-07-20-17-04-401BEHOLD, HOW good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life forevermore; (Ps. 133:1-3 KJV).

Exhortation is a unique spiritual gift. It equips and enables a person with the ability to encourage and edify others. To exhort means to call to one’s side to develop relationships for the purpose of encouraging them. The person who has this gift can use it to counsel, for discipleship, and for preaching.

The gift of exhortation is an invaluable gift within the body of Christ. More often than realized, believers use it to encourage other believers during praise and worship service and other fellowship services. There are believers who are going through difficult times, some may even be waivering in their faith, we must encourage and support one another to continue in God’s grace. Christians are instructed to bear one another’s burden, thus fulfilling the law of Christ; (Gal. 6:2).

The Value of the Gift of Exhortation

* Encouragement brings a level of peace. It is a necessary gift to the body of Christ; (Gal. 5:22-23).

* Encouragement helps us to dress in our spiritual armor; (Eph. 6:11-18). It prepares us for the battle.

* Encouragement gives us hope and the will to carry on; (Ps. 147:11).

If you know of someone who is hurting, take time to encourage them not to give up. A smile or a kind word can start a conversation and perhaps start a long lasting friendship. Your kindness can persuade someone to not give up. You just may save someones’ life by showing them that you care. Show the love of Christ by being good a friend.

Blessings of my love to you!
