The Ethiopian man was reading this passage of Scripture, “He was led like a sheep to the slaughter and as a lamb before the shearer is silent, so he did not open his mouth. In humiliation, he was deprived of justice. Who can speak of his descendants? For his life was taken from the earth.”
He asked Philip, “Tell me, please who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?” Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus; (Acts. 9:32-35).
Here we see Philip the evangelist faithfully fulling his assignment as he was told to do by the angel of the Lord; (v. 26). It is the work of an evangelist to proclaim the “Good News” of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But it’s not just the work of an evangelist, Jesus commissioned all Christians to go into all the world and preach the glad tidings to every creature; (Mark. 16:15-18). We have the best news and it’s for everyone!
“Jesus died, rose, and saves all who will call on Him.”
As you’re going about your daily routine, remember to be a witness and tell someone about the ministry of Jesus Christ. You could possibly be sharing the best news ever with someone who needs to know the love of Christ. Don’t hesitate to tell of the marvelous things that He’s done for you. By doing so you may be saving a life eternally.
Peace be unto you, my friend!
