Hold A Hand and Be A Friend

Be A FriendToday’s Scripture: Carry each other’s burdens and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ (Gal. 6:2).

In today’s Scripture we are told to bear one another’s burden, and in doing so we will fulfill the law of Christ. Exhortation is a spiritual gift. It is the unique ability to encourage and edify others. It is an urging done by someone close. To exhort means to call to ones side. To develop relationships for the purpose of encouraging them. The person who has the gift of exhortation can use the gift to counsel, for discipleship, and for preaching. This gift is used to encourage other believers. Some believers are going through a difficult time and may be wavering in their faith. We must encourage one another to continue in the grace of God.

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up just as in fact you are doing.

(1 Thess. 5:11)

Encouragement brings a level of comfort and peace to one’s soul. Romans 14:19 instructs us to make every effort to do what leads to peace. Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up. We are to exhort one another daily by praying together, by instructing one another in doctrines of the Gospel and by putting one another in mind of the covenant of grace.

Encouragement is necessary to our walk of faith. We are to comfort one another in prayer and build one another up at the time of need. Believers are not exempt from the world’s troubles. During the time of testing and trials we will face trouble. Encouragement helps us to dress in our armor and prepares us for the onset of the battle. It helps us to endure so that we can remain steadfast in the battles of life. It is not uncommon for us to become discouraged during these times. We may have feelings of hopelessness and want to give up. At times such as these, encouragement gives us hope. Encouragement nurtures patience when we feel overwhelmed by painful situations. Without it we could also experience feelings of being unloved. The Bible tells us to encourage one another, to remind each other of the truth of God’s love. Encouragement gives us the will to carry on.

Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. (Proverb 16:24)

Let us encourage one another through our gifts. If you see someone who needs help, someone who is hurting, or someone who does not know the love of God, comfort, encourage, and teach them. Help them to find a level of comfort and peace. A smile and a kind word can be a great start to an encouraging conversation. Hearing the phrase “Jesus loves you” can make all the difference in someones life. Just knowing that someone loves you and cares can give a person hope. There are believers who are going through difficult times. We must encourage one another to continue in God’s grace. A few encouraging words can save a life. Hold a hand and be a friend. Someone needs to know the love of God through Christ.

Blessings of my love to you!

    1. Good morning Olivia. I appreciate your comment. I hope that you’re are feeling better this morning. I’m sorry to hear about your feelings of being unloved. This concerns me because it’s the condition of the heart that helps us to heal. Love is the most important gift of God. God is love and if you don’t feel the love of God the soul becomes down cast. Please know that you are loved. God loves you more than any human ever can or will. While we are in pain the enemy comes to taunt us. But always remind him that you know who you are in Christ. What I love about social media is that God will send you encouragement using it. You may not know the person, but God knows you and He also chose the person that will encourage you. Today is me! You are loved by me and God! Anytime you need a prayer or just to be encourage. You can leave me a comment on my about page and I will be sure to find it. I am currently working on a prayer page. You will be able to it and find encouragement through prayer. God is leading my heart to do this, perhaps He had you in mind. Love You Sis! I’m praying for you.

  2. Beautiful Jeanie I agree totally. Encouragement is so important in this broken world. It gives hope to the despairs. Sometime, even save a person from committing suicide.

  3. Good morning Ange! Yes, I agree. There are so many people who are contemplating suicide all because they feel unloved. They believe that no one cares. I want to let those who are hurting know that Jesus loves them. And that God is able to do all things, so there is no need to feel hopeless because Jesus is the Way. He carries burdens and takes away heavy loads. This is my passion Ange. These people need to know that they are not alone. Thank you for encouraging me. You are a blessing in my life! God bless you sis! Enjoy your Day!

Hey there! May has arrived and it’s the fifth month of the year. Five being the number of grace, we must extend grace to others as God has extends it to us. Be mindful to reach out to others and show people that there is still love in the world in spite of their troubles or discomforts. God extends His loving grace to all of mankind. Be a friend to someone who is in need of one. Share the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Love, Joy, and Peace be unto you!
