The Power of Hope

HOPE

Scripture: “For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hopes for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it”; (Romans 8:24-25 KJV).

Hope is related to faith. It is the foundation on which faith stands on. Hope is having a positive outlook while expecting something good to happen. Many people try to have faith, but they don’t have any hope. Some people feel hopeless and don’t know what to do about it. You cannot have hope and a negative attitude and expect to live a positive life.

Vines Dictionary defines “hope” as a favorable and confident expectation of the unseen or of the future. Webster’s Dictionary defines hope as “to cherish a desire with anticipation of obtainment; to expect with confidence.”

We can have hope in spite of our circumstances or situations. The word of God says that we can have faith. Hope is what we hold on to when everything else appears to be shaky. When we look at the affairs of our nation, things seem hopeless. Listening daily to adverse media reports of the fallen economy, rumors of wars, weather catastrophes, high unemployment statistics, fatalities, poverty, and immoral injustices, can leave you with feelings of hopelessness. Yet, our situations are not hopeless.

1 Timothy 1:1 tells us that Jesus Christ is our hope. He is the sure foundation upon which we base our Christian lives. When our hope is in Jesus, we can expect God’s blessings. Hope gives us endless possibilities because it is spiritual and eternal. Hope produces visions, dreams, and ideas. With eyes of faith, we can look through the lens of hope without fear of the unforeseen future. Put your hope in the living God who always keeps His promises. You will never be disappointed, nor will you ever be ashamed.

May the God of hope fill you with joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Much love and many blessings to you. Enjoy your day!
