Scripture: “I love the Lord, for He heard my voice; He heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned His ear to me, I will call on Him as long as I live”; (Ps. 116:1-2 NIV).

The Lord Jehovah heard me. He inclined His ear to hear me. What a privilege and an honor it is for God to listen to us, and to know that whenever we call upon Him, He hears us and listens to our supplications. Ps. 91:14-16 says, because we love Him, He will rescue and protect us just because we acknowledge His name. Whenever we call, He will answer us and be with us in the time of trouble. He promised that He would deliver us means that He will manage all of our concerns. God is invoked by our prayers, he visits in times of affliction. He bears us up and takes us through our troubles and makes all things work together for our good; (Rom. 8:28).

I ask the same question that King David asked, “Lord what is man that thou are so mindful of him?” ; (Ps. 8:4-6). He has given man dominion over all living things. God has given man dominion over the works of His hands. It is by His grace and His goodness that He has placed man next in dignity to angels and has crowned us with honor and glory, which are attributes of royal dignity. I declare my love for the Lord and I place my trust in Him. James 5:16 confirms that the fervent prayers of a righteous man avails much. This is a rule without exception. The righteous are never forsaken in affliction, nor are their seed begging bread; (Ps. 37:25-26). The Lord is faithful; He gives the promise of mercy to the obedient, even to thousands of generations; (Ex. 20:6).

We can trust and depend on God. He is faithful to provide for us spiritually, physically, and emotionally. His love never fails and His love for His children never ends. His love protects, His promise of protection is given to those who love and place their trust in Him. Never doubt God’s love, He cares for you and He cares about you. Pray to Him continuously with faith knowing that He hears you and that He is faithful to answer. It is the fervent prayers of a righteous man that avails much and this is the confidence that we have in approaching God. If we ask anything according to His will He hears us. Effectual fervent prayers can come from Scripture or from the depths of our hearts. Fervent means constant, strenuous, and intense. God promised that he would keep in perfect peace those whose minds have stayed on Him.

My favorite verses of Ps. 91 are the last three verses, “Because he loves me”, says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation”; (v.v. 14-16).

There is nothing that God desires more than to have a personal relationship with you. God loves you and He desires nothing more than to have a personal relationship with you. I employ you to spend time with Him. Get to know Him. Fall in love with Him again. There is no greater love than the love of God. After all, He loved us first!
