“ABBA” is an Aramaic word that translates as “Daddy”. ABBA signifies the close and intimate relationship of a father to his child as well as the child-like trust a young child puts in his “daddy”. The misguided concept that all people are children of God and can truthfully refer to Him as “Abba Father” is not true. When becoming a child of God (adopted by Him through faith in Christ Jesus) it is important that we understand how and why God deals with people differently.
When we are born again, we have been adopted into the family of God, redeemed from the curse of sin, and are “joint-heirs with Christ Jesus,” (Rom. 8:17; Gal. 4:7). Just as children do not choose to be adopted, or who will adopt them, neither do Christians choose to become children of God. God Himself, chooses according to the good pleasure of His will. Becoming a child of God is the highest privilege and honor. It calls us to a higher standard and a different way of life. The privilege of being able to call Him “Abba Father” will take on a whole new meaning and help us to understand God’s amazing grace!
Ok, Saints, let’s make our conversations personal, call out to God as “Abba Father.” He’s a loving “Daddy” who is relatable.
Great Blessings of God’s Love To You!
I usually refer to Him as Father God during my prayer time. I am glad to have learned the translation and importance of Abba Father.

Good afternoon Cherese! I apologize for my late response to your comment. I appreciate your comment, and I’m grateful for you patience. I loved it when you said that you have become familiar with the meaning of the term Abba Father. God lovingly cares for us as our heavenly Father and wants us to personally call Him Daddy, as innocent children calling to their parent. It definitely is about relationship, and the trust in that relationship. Thank you for your comment! I hope that your evening will be peaceful. Enjoy the rest of your day!

How wonderful it is to be able to say that he is mine and that I am his. I am blessed that the Holy Spirit reminds me daily to whom I belong. My father in Heaven knows my heart, knows me better than anyone else, and better than I know myself. His Holy Spirit is my comforter here on earth, and even in my difficult times, I am not alone, I am not an orphan, I am God’s child never to beforsaken. Thank you for reminding us of just what Abba Father means. When we understand we can grow and develop an even deeper, closer, relationship, with God, our father. Thankful to you, have a blessed day!

Good morning Debra. I absolutely agree with your comment. God loves us too much to ever leave us or forsake us. He is faithful, so faithful that He watches over His word to bring it to completion. He is a promise keeper. And the fact that He loves us unconditionally seals the deal tightly and securely for me. I love that we can go before His throne any time, boldly and confidently with absolute assurance that He hears us and is faithful to answer us. Jesus is the best thing that has ever happen to me! Have an awesome day Debra. Blessings of love to you!
